What Is Pulp Therapy?

Pulp therapy, either a pulpotomy or pulpectomy, is what we perform on baby teeth affected by infections. During a root canal (adult tooth) or pulpectomy (baby tooth), the entire pulp must be removed, including all of the tissue in the root canals before the tooth is filled and sealed off with a crown. During a pulpotomy, only the topmost portion of the pulp is removed. These treatments are typically recommended when the pulp of a tooth is inflamed or infected and will provide your little one with much-needed relief.
